PDX Flamingo House

Started in March of 2020 on the outskirts of Austin, TX during the beginning of the pandemic, the PDX Flamingo House (at that time, the ATX Flamingo house) was created to lift neighbor’s spirits as they dealt with isolation. Originally the flamingos were arranged in designs on the lawn until one day some neighbor kids left a note asking to, “Please have the flamingos do a costume party.” The house responded with putting on a flamingo wedding with dressed up guests and has continued to create costumes and novel situations for their flamingos to get into on a regular basis. In 2022, the flock moved to Portland and has called the city it’s home ever since.
